Alfa Laval a utilisé des échangeurs de chaleur spiralés - et son expertise - pour apporter une touche d'innovation à la production d'éthanol de deuxième génération d'Inbicon, contribuant ainsi à la création d'un nouveau procédé révolutionnaire qui sera breveté dans le monde entier.

Née d'une collaboration entre Elsam et DONG Energy, Inbicon a une longue histoire d'innovation en matière de développement durable. Ses objectifs sont ambitieux : résoudre le problème énergétique mondial en transformant les résidus de culture en carburants renouvelables véritablement propres et rentables. Dans sa raffinerie de biomasse primée de Kalundborg, au Danemark, elle a mis au point une technologie brevetée pour la production de carburant propre, « le nouvel éthanol ».

However there was a weak link in the process which Alfa Laval was able to fix. Heat exchangers at the heart of the process became clogged by the viscous and fibrous media which caused expensive unscheduled downtime.
